Hi, I'm CJ from Pingora and I'm here to talk about the top pocket that we designed for the Outro backpacking pack. The top pocket was designed to add extra room to your Outro backpacking pack, but also converts into a convenient summit sling so you can go on short walks at camp or, have a small pack for that final summit.
To attach your top pocket to the Outro backpacking pack, the first step is to remove the accessory strap. There is a nice loop at the end of the strap that you can make a nice little accessory compression strap with. We will toss that strap for now.
I'm going to unhook these aluminium hooks from the daisy chain. And that prepares it to be attached to the Outro Backpacking pack. Once we get the compression strap threaded through the tri-bar on the top pocket, we're going to find a little sleeve on the top pocket to thread the compression strap through. I'm going to put my finger in, find the tunnel and then i'm just going to push the compression strap through the tunnel.
You can see that it pops out the other side here. And now we're ready to connect this back to the top of the back panel. And I do that just by reversing what I did earlier.
Then, I double back to lock it in place. And you can adjust it as needed. Then, I'm going to take the aluminium hooks and connect those to the flat loops on the top of each corner of the back panel.
Now you can see that the compression strap is still compressing the top of the Outro backpacking pack. The top pocket works just like any top pocket on any other backpack.
The cool thing about the Outro top pocket is that it's integrated in to the compression of the backpack through the top strap. And if you pull it tight enough, you can kind of pull this occipital cup away from your head. This gives you a little bit more range of motion when you're looking around or wearing a helmet.
