Designed specifically around avalanche tool access, the Vivid 27 was designed as a do-it-all pack for backcountry ski and split boarding pursuits. Our avalanche tool and safety pocket uses and EYL luggage zipper from YKK, especially designed for durability and abrasion resistance – the first backcountry pack to employ this zipper. We preserved quick access to essential avalanche rescue tools and designed the pack around this feature.

I would say I'm very happy with this product, though I'm yet to be thrilled. What's great - main pack and top compartment. LOVE accessing it while wearing it, size of pack is outstanding for my day-use purposes both on snow and trail.
What's yet to be great - not sure I'll find the pockets on the shoulder and waist straps that useful, particularly the latter. Maybe a phone and monocular, but not any water bottles which I think is what was advertised.
Still, overall I'm happy with the purchase. Looks like it will last a long time. Check back in 5 years!

Absolutely love this bag. I use it for everything, from running errands on my bike, to skiing backcountry in Banff, it truly does it all! I cannot recommend this bag enough. Yet, I do wish there was a hole to run my camelback through…
Either way if you’re thinking about picking one up, I highly recommend you do.

This pack is new to me, and I've run it several times on different tours and conditions. It seems like I might have found 'the unicorn'. This pack is great for chill days with friends meadow hopping and poking around on longer low angle tours - and also feels 'light' and has all the features important to me in a 'go fast' pack when I'm feeling peppier on the ups - and also really 'works with you' (don't really feel it) when charging. Loving it so far. Well done, Pingora!

This is definitely geared more to Skiing. I was hoping it would work for regular backpacking and it didn't. I had to return it. Loved everything about it however.

I recently received my Vivid 27 ski pack and look forward to winter to put it to work. I’m so impressed with this pack I want to share some initial impressions. The build quality and materials is exceptional. This pack is loaded with features while not seeming overly complicated. The avy tool pocket is large and easily holds full size shovels and probes. This pocket is also roomy enough to carry skins and probably modern ascent plates like the Auftrib. The main compartment is big and open as well. The goggle, hip, and shoulder pockets are a welcome feature too. It is great that Pingora has utilized features from running vests to add functionality for ease of fueling and hydration. So far I’m super psyched with this new pack. I’ll be sure to add a in depth review as soon as the snow flies.

Simplicity on the back, party up front. I've LOVED this pack so far. It's minimal, sleek, and carries extremely well when loaded to the brim. Most of all, I love the functionality with additional pockets on the shoulder straps and hip belt.
